After a single 2.5 mg dose of bromocriptine administered at 0900, prolactin secretion was inhibited within two hours, and reached nadir at seven hours. With chronic treatment (2.5mg three times per day) at three and six months, prolactin levels were maintained within the normal range throughout a 24-hour period.
